Corvette club of South Australia Inc.

WEATHER: Grey, wet, windy and who cares!

GATHERING: 26 PERSONS

Good to see another great turnout on a typical winter’s afternoon.

Yes, it was windy and rainy but indoors at the Campania Sports and Social Club it was game on, play on.

The elbows were out, and cheering bellowed through the building as CCSA Bocce diehards played their heart out until dinner was served after the end of Round 1.

After all the food and drinks were consumed and a little rest there was no slowing down as Round 2 kicked off at a frantic pace.  More of the same with a sharper focus on winning.

Yet here we were watching one another’s skills, style and postures and trying to use different tactics to get the competitive edge for one of us to shine.

Well, that wasn’t the case as 1st place was tied and after some squabble over the alcohol first and second prizes were sorted, the real winners were the people that turned up and the game of BOCCE.

Final Scores

Team 1: Rachel, Neil and Noreen – 26

Team 2: Peter B, Peter McB and Graham – 26

Team 3: Serge, Kay and Rudi – 20

Team 4: Dave, Dave S and Ray – 21

Team 5: Christeen, Jo and Neil B – 17

Team 6: Tim and Gary – 16

Team 7: Chris, Lynda and Joy – 15

Team 8: Goof and Mel – 8

I would like to thank all the volunteers at the Campania Club for making the venue available out of normal operational hours, especially Genaro for his organizational and persuasive skills.

I would like to acknowledge that Bling, Graham Walker and Peter Bartlett donated their prize to be a Heart Kids fundraiser & Serge donated the trophy Bocce Ball set to the Campania Club. Good on ya guys.

We hope that our donation of a wooden Bocce set goes to a worthy cause and future Bocce challenges again.

Ciao for now,

Serge
