Sunday morning, we arrived at Caltex Bolivar with all of the cruisers; Peter, Lynda, Larry, Kathy, Jim, Catherine & also a newer member, Mark Holland (Dutch) who arrived 1st. After a greeting to all, paperwork done, Captain made his speech. After leaving Caltex Service Station along Pt Wakefield Rd to Waterloo Cnr turn off, onto Gawler Expressway to Horrocks Hwy; But… a mandatory U-turn came into play as I missed the turn off. Haa Haa I was told this was the quickest & shortest U-turn negotiated. Might as well get it out of the way?? Then we were back on track. Finally on the freeway, 5 Corvettes motoring along, arriving at our turn off onto Horrocks Hwy. No mistakes this time. The weather was a little bit cool, small amount of rain, we also got held up with cyclists, but got past easily then the rest of the cruise went smoothly, rolling into Saddleworth, we turned a few heads as we rumbled through town before parking in front of the Gilbert Valley Hotel. This was our lucky day as the monthly market was on, so off we go shopping. Great fun, plenty to see & buy. Then we all head back for lunch. A little wait for order, but boy, what a meal. The stories & laughter filled the small hotel. As time got away from us, I suggested a further cruise to Clare, Blythe, Balaklava, Mallala where we stopped for a break. We all said our goodbyes to fellow club members. This was my first time as cruise captain & to all who attended, thank you for making it pleasant. Cheers Graeme & Joy Walker
