Rob's Bungaree Station Run - 5th May 2019

Sunday morning was cool and calm with occasional patches of sunshine as the number of Corvettes increased at the meet point with a total of 14 and 3 other cars and we picked up the 15th Vette at Kapunda, good numbers for a May Sunday.
We left Munno Para and headed through Kapunda to our coffee stop at the Eudunda bakery where we did our compulsory U-turn in a side street to find enough parking for all the cars and in typical Corvette Club fashion we spilled out of the bakery onto the footpath and into a parking space in front forcing the locals to park elsewhere, so that was our public relations exercise for the day.
The run from Eudunda to Bungaree was pleasant with the sun coming out and no traffic until we did a "mainy" in Burra, the road from Spalding to Clare was rough as though the rabbits had been digging and the bitumen was just put over the top, gave the new shocks a real workout.
Our reputation had preceded us to Bungaree (I think that they heard that Graham was on the run) so there were signs that directed us through the main part of the station to the shearing shed, away from the "normal" visitors. The Shed was set up with tables and chairs and it was a very pleasant setting and the two course, BBQ and desert meal, was good and they had a bar set up permanently to enable us to quench our thirst. After our lunch we were given a history lesson of the station and it is now being run by the sixth generation, quite extraordinary and well worth a visit.
A few took the opportunity to do a self guided tour while many decided to head for home after a pleasant day, the Vette did around 380km for the day with the southerners doing more, just a quiet drive really.
