Corvettes at Victor 2015 was popular after 15 rooms of club members attended, this year we booked 20 rooms and they were snapped up early.
Friday started with the early arrival of Sean and Kirsty due to George the c5 being utilized and not that black thing. The mention of a "party room" at reception was met with a stern "no party rooms" policy, so a "gathering room" was created in room 13 to start proceedings on the Friday afternoon.
After pre-dinner drinks everyone gathered at the Apollon motel dining room for dinner and drinks and a bit of chin wagging. By the end of the evening the barman was regretting the decision to have a bell on the bar!

Saturday morning started with a display on the Warland Reserve on the foreshore, with 18 corvettes on display. It was a relaxing sunny morning with everyone wandering off to the local cafes for some breakfast and coffee while the locals and tourists perused the cars.
After midday the first drivers briefing was held and the 2 way radios were off the chargers and ready to go, last time 2 radios worked well so this year it was 3. Red Leader, Eagle 1 and Rubber Duckie were ready to herd the corvette cats. We were off to Goolwa for lunch at the Goolwa Aquatic club and the AFL grand final between Adelaide Crows and Richmond.
It was a pleasant lunch but as soon as the football telecast began, the tv signal suddenly took a turn for the worst - it was an omen of things to come! People then began to filter out and return to Victor. Enough said about the football.

Saturday night dinner was at the Crown Hotel, and just to prove that Victor is S.A.'s largest above ground cemetery the corvette members were the last people to leave the hotel at 9.30 pm as they started packing up around us. Back to the Apollon for more hijinks being led by the Pete and Jim show!
Sunday began with overcast skies and a few daytrippers rolled up for drivers briefing, including the Prodigy family, good to see Ross and Jan. We were off to Normanville, a pleasant cruise only interrupted by a rather large Skippy who did the predictably unpredictable and jumped in front of George, but he was no match for the c5 brakes! Coffee stop at Normanville, some more chatter and photos and we were off to Victor via Glacier rock. A pleasant cruise only interrupted by a Suburu wagon driving below the speed limit on a great piece of driving road - arghh I hate those cars!

Back at Victor we were lunching at the McCracken Country Club with the usual eating, drinking and talking that dragged on till the late afternoon for some, followed by a Granite Island stroll.
Sunday night dinner was at the Victor Hotel, and again being pushed out the door at 9.30 - obviously that is the designated bed time at all the Victor nursing homes. Ok, back to the Apollon for the Pete and Jim show, at least they know how to drink past 9.30.
Monday morning came too soon, it was time to check out and wander up to the Café Primo for breakfast before everyone heading home.
It was good to see everyone relaxing and having a good time over the long weekend, thanks for the pressies!
