Our 40th Anniversary Celebrations started off with a Huge Bang on the 4th of November with a sumptuous 3 course dinner at the Rydges, South Park. Over 80 people attended making it a huge night of celebrations! We had 6 of our Founding Members attend and 8 of our past presidents to help us Celebrate this milestone.
The night was hosted in spectacular fashion by Lee Norsworthy with the assistance of our current President, Rob. Entrees were served followed by the introduction of our Founding Members and speeches as to their background and how the club started. Following main course, our Past Presidents also formed and spoke about their time in the hot seat.
The sub-committee did an amazing job of decorating the room, including table centrepieces which had silent bids per table, with the highest bidder taking home the centrepiece along with a bottle of anniversary port. Also had a couple of silent auction corvette models which were highly sort after!
Photo boards of past events were displayed along with old albums that were handwritten by Jan Spurling (obviously before computers were invented!) were also on display for all to view.
Tony Beer-Smith did a fabulous job of a presentation including the honour roll with photos which was scrolling through all night.
The Grand Finale was a scrumptious anniversary cake which was cut by Rob and shared amongst us all.
A wonderful night had by all.
Huge Congratulations to the sub-committee, past and present on a wonderful effort of putting this night together.
