It’s not the Destination but the Journey.
On Saturday 26th, 16 corvettes met at Caltex Bolivar for our overnight run to Pt Augusta. 4 cars came along for lunch at the Pt. Broughton hotel and then went back to Adelaide. Gus,  John and Tam came up from Whyalla and met us for lunch and then  continued with us. Gene and Barb members from our sister club in L.A. Corvettes West also came along for the weekend, thanks to Struth who brought both their cars so they could both ride in vettes. 
After lunch we continued up through the Germein Gorge, a bute and scenic drive though Murray Town, Melrose , Wilmington, and down through Horrocks Pass, (all good vetting roads) and onto Pt Augusta , where I led them out to Flinders Lookout. From here you looked out over the water to the Flinders Ranges , so we settled down to watch the sunset with some wine, beer, bubbly, cheese ,dips ,crackers, making this a good way to finish off the first days drive.
After the sunset we then booked in and freshened up for tea at the Indian restaurant where we had a free raffle which Allan won, (a chev garage sign). After  tea , some of us continued the party while others went for their beauty sleep (it did not help them).
Sunday 29th started with breakky at various places around town, before heading back through the Flinders via Horrocks Pass, looking supurb in the morning light to a quaint little bakery at Stone Hut, for morning tea. After the break we continued following the range back to the Clare Valley and onto Auburn for lunch. Here we were met by another 5 couples who drove up from Adelaide to join us for lunch in the historic stables.
To finish off the Sunday, after we arrived back in Adelaide some of us went back to Bob and Carole’s for pre dinner drinks, then about 15 of us took Gene and Barb to tea at the Watermark hotel as they were leaving for the USA on Monday. 
Lyn & I would just like to thank everyone who came and made this such a good  weekend run, especially Gene  and Barb,( Barry Koski and Chris ,new members) who did their 1st run with us.
